Our story

Why we started

Strength in Numbers started in January 2026, in the depths of winter. Dark mornings, cold ground, and one simple idea: bring men together.

Every Saturday we meet on Hugglescote Park and work hard together. We push each other, and nobody trains on his own.

Then we stop for a coffee at the gate. That's where the rest of it happens: the chat, the catch-up, the feeling of being part of something. The training gets you down there. The people are why you come back.

Who's behind it

Run by Sam

Strength in Numbers is run by Sam: a coach, a dad and ex-Army.

He started the group because he loves training and helping people get better at it. His approach is simple: honest coaching, clear structure and no magic fixes.

The discipline, resilience and standards come from his time in the Army. That doesn't mean everything has to be extreme. Most results come from doing the basics properly, for long enough.

Outside of training, it's family, the group and getting outdoors.

"I don't think fitness should take over your life. It should make your life better."

Sam, founder

Stronger Together

What we stand for

  • Train together

Show up and put the work in. Every session is built so the whole group can take part, and nobody gets left at the back on his own.

  • Explore together

Get off the park and into the hills. Hikes, camping weekends and trips like Snowdon, done as a group.

  • Grow together

Coffee after every session and socials through the week. Men looking out for each other, on Saturdays and the rest of the week too.

All levels welcome

Haven't trained in years? Good. Already train most days? Also good.

Sessions are balanced for everyone, so each man works at his own level and still trains with the group. You won't be the odd one out.
